Gordon signs professional contract with Lake Erie
AVON, Ohio - Recent Jacksonville University graduate Zach Gordon is set to begin the next stage of his baseball career. Gordon, was signed to a professional contract by the Lake Erie Crushers of the independent Frontier League.

A right handed pitcher, Gordon made six starts in 23 appearances for the Dolphins in 2014. He posted a 3-5 record with a 4.09 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 50.2 innings pitched. A business administration major, he was named to the Atlantic Sun Academic Team both years he wore a Dolphins uniform. During one stretch of 2014 he allowed just one run over 11.2 innings and four appearances, including retiring all six Florida State hitters he faced in a start against the No. 5 Seminoles on Apr. 15.

Gordon won starts against Bethune-Cookman and in the regular season finale vs Northern Kentucky when he threw five scoreless innings. His victory over NKU on May 17 earned the Dolphins the No. 5 seed in the Atlantic Sun Tournament.
