Dolphins Rally From Two Games Down To Post Fourth Straight Win

Jacksonville, Fla. - Sophomore Carrie Bosworth posted her third triple-double (11 kills, 53 assists and 18 digs) in four matches as Jacksonville University (9-7) rallied from two games down to defeat George Mason University (7-7) by the score of 3-2 (5-15, 13-15, 15-13, 15-9, 15-12) in volleyball action here Saturday night. With the victory, the Dolphins ran their winning streak to four, and they have now won six of their last seven matches.

Leading the way offensively for the Dolphins was sophomore Carrie Arago (Longwod, Fla.) with a match-high 25 kills. Senior Kelly Hickam (15) and junior Juanita Barb (10) joined Bosworth and Arago with double-digit kill performances. Five Dolphins posted double-digit dig performances in the Jacksonville comeback, led by Bosworth's 18. She was joined by Arago (16), Hickam (15), senior Ericka Rutzebeck (11) and junior Jessica Windell (10) as the Dolphins defense prove to be the difference in games three, four and five.

George Mason was led by sophomore Natalia Torres-Tirado's 23 kills. Freshman Shelbylynn McBride (Valerico, Fla.) and sophomore Shalen Reed joined Torres-Tirado in double-digit kills with 19 and 14 respectively. Junior Daniela Pastore directed the George Mason attack with 50 assists and a team-high 14 digs.

The Dolphins will return to action against conference rival Troy State on Friday, October 15th at 7:00 P.M. when they look to remain undefeated in the Trans America Athletic Conference. George Mason continues their Florida swing with a match at the University of Central Florida on Monday, October 11th at 7:00 P.M.
