The ongoing renovations at Milne Field saw significant visual progress this past week.
Highlighting the progress was the deconstruction of the old scoreboard in the south end of the stadium. The deconstruction will make way for a new six-figure scoreboard that includes a 25' by 13' video screen which will completely revolutionize the viewer experience at Milne Field.
Once completed the new D. B. Milne Field project will consist of a 2,900 seat grandstand, a state-of-the-art press box building along with the new concessions and restroom facilities. Lights and a new scoreboard are also part of the enhancements.
The project was funded in total by private donations. The feasibility study was done by renowned architect Fred Krenson of Rosser International and refined by McMillan Pazden Smith and Glen Dasher. The contractor is Perry McCall.
Completion of the project is expected for the fall of 2014 before the football home opener on Sept. 13 against San Diego.
