As the Pioneer Football League title chase comes down to the wire, the league office has issued winning scenarios based on two and three teams tying. Here are the details:

 THREE TEAM TIE
Based on one-loss teams (Dayton, Jacksonville and San Diego)
  • Jacksonville has 2 PFL games remaining (DAV, CAM)
  • Dayton has 3 PFL games remaining (DRA, BUT, CAM)
  • San Diego has 2 PFL games remaining (MOR, VAL)
Teams will not play each other and none can be 2-0 in the group. (Tiebreaker 2)
  • Jacksonville def. San Diego, will not play Dayton
  • Dayton lost to San Diego, will not play Jacksonville
  • San Diego 1-1 against the two teams it would be tied with
Common Opponents (Tiebreaker 3) are Butler, Drake, Marist and Morehead State
  • Dayton 2-0 (will play Butler and Drake)
  • San Diego 3-0 (will play Morehead State)
  • Jacksonville 3-1 (has played all four)

If Dayton and San Diego win their remaining games, Jacksonville drops out of the tiebreaker

Dayton and San Diego revert to the two-team tiebreaker

San Diego defeated Dayton 40-29 on Oct. 25. (Tiebreaker 1)

 TWO TEAM TIE
  • Jacksonville-San Diego: JAC defeated SAN in the regular season
  • San Diego-Dayton: SAN defeated DAY in the regular season
  • Jacksonville-Dayton: Will not play during the regular season
  • Common Opponents are Butler, Campbell, Davidson, Drake, Marist, Morehead State and San Diego
  • Currently Jacksonville is 4-1 (CAM and DAV remaining)
  • Currently Dayton is 3-1 (BUT, CAM, DRA remaining)

If they remain tied, the next tiebreaker would be their result against the third-place team(s)
