Former Jacksonville University standout Andrew Robustelli was in New Jersey last week attending rookie camp for the New York Giants. He is family has strong ties to the organizaton as his grandfather, Andy Robustelli was a Hall of Fame defensive end for the organization in the late 50s and early 60s.
During the weekend, the younger Robustelli's quest was featured in The Record newspaper in northern New Jersey.
When setting up the locker room for the rookie minicamp being held at their training facility this weekend, the decision of where long-shot wide receiver Andrew Robustelli from Jacksonville University would be assigned was made with that in mind.
The late Andy Robustelli was a Hall of Fame defensive end who played for the Rams and then the Giants, for whom he had his greatest success. He is a member of the team's Ring of Honor, one of the franchise's most revered players and among those whose name is painted on the walls inside the Giants' locker room.
So there stood Andrew Robustelli on Friday, using the locker on loan from Giants backup quarterback Ryan Nassib, between those used by Odell Beckham Jr. and Eli Manning, and directly underneath the name of his legendary grandfather.
