JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University quarterback Kade Bell has been named to the STATS FCS Offensive Player of the Year Watch List. The redshirt-senior from Fleming Island, Fla., is 149-280 on the season with 17 touchdowns, tied for fourth in the FCS, and six interceptions.
Bell, who already owns the school single-season record for passing yardage and total yardage, has thrown for 1,872 yards, sixth in the FCS, and rushed for 44 yards and a score.
After leading the Pioneer Football League in each category last year, Bell sits atop the PFL with 312 yards passing per game (fourth in FCS) and in total offense with 319.3 yards per game. He has twice been named the Pioneer Football League's Offensive Player of the Week this season. His first was after the win at Delaware, when he went 25-of-43 for 269 yards and one touchdown and rushed eight times for 28 yards. The second was after five touchdown passes versus Stetson. He is first in the PFL and ranks fifth in the FCS with 24.83 completions per game.
