JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior safety Dallas Jackson has been named to the College Football Performance Awards Defensive Back of the Year Watch List and redshirt-junior punt returner Terrance Bryant was chosen to the Punt Returner of the Year Watch List.
Both Jackson and Bryant were instrumental in Jacksonville's regular season FCS leading 20 interceptions. In 2015, Jackson again tied the program's single-season record for interceptions with five after doing so in 2014. He finished his Dolphin career with 11 picks, good for second in the school's record book. The Palmetto, Fla., native had three pass breakups, four tackles-for-a-loss, and 47 tackles in 11 games.
Bryant's season was cut short by injury. In seven games, the Fort Walton Beach, Fla., native returned 13 punts for an average of 15.1 yards, which led the Pioneer Football League and was top-10 in the nation at the time of his injury. Also a free safety, Bryant led the team with 49 tackles and three interceptions through his seven games.
The award winners will be announced January 13, 2016 in Charleston, S.C.
