Class of 2017 Invited for June 3 Jacksonville and Georgia Tech Football Camp

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rising senior football prospects (Class of 2017) seeking maximum exposure for playing at the next level are encouraged to register for Jacksonville University's one-day football camp on June 3 with coaches from Jacksonville and Georgia Tech offering instruction at D.B. Milne Field.

"This is a great opportunity for us to partner with Georgia Tech and see some of the best prospects in the region," said Head Coach Ian Shields.  "We both are looking for young men with similar characteristics on and off the field; high character, outstanding students, and exceptionally talented athletes that can win at our respective levels. It promises to be an actioned-packed and exciting day from start to finish."

Jacksonville University, a NCAA Division 1 program located less than 20 minutes from 22 miles of beaches and across the St. Johns River from a sprawling downtown, has posted consecutive 9-2 seasons and is entering its first season under Head Coach Ian Shields and his staff.

Georgia Tech, a NCAA Division 1 member of the Atlantic Coast Conference and located in Atlanta, Ga., won the 2014 Orange Bowl with an 11-3 season. Head Coach Paul Johnson is a three-time ACC Coach of the Year.

The camp is designed to give each individual athlete a solid foundation in the basic football fundamentals needed to excel at a position. Each camper will receive position-specific instruction from the Jacksonville University and Georgia Tech coaching staff.  All offensive (QB,RB,TE,WR,OL) and defensive (DL,LB,DB) positions will be instructed at this prospect camp and all Class of 2017 prospects are encouraged to attend.
