SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Jacksonville University (13-6, 1-1 ASUN) wraps up its two-game road trip Saturday at USC Upstate (11-8, 1-1 ASUN) at 2 p.m. ET. The Dolphins will be looking for their third straight win at the G.B. Hodge Center, and the fourth straight in the series against the Spartans.

Recapping the Last Game

Jacksonville University was able to survive three different attempts by the New Jersey Institute of Technology (8-10, 0-2 ASUN) to tie up or win the game in the final eight seconds, allowing the Dolphins to escape the Fleisher Center with an 82-81 victory on Thursday. The win marks the first time Jacksonville has defeated the Highlanders, and the first Dolphin win at NJIT in the two seasons NJIT has been in the ASUN Conference. J.R. Holder had a career-best 39 points, the 12th-most a Dolphin has ever scored in a game and the third 30+ points game for the Dolphins this season, all of which were victories.

Recapping the Last Matchup Against USC Upstate – February 18, 2016

Kori Babineaux broke into the 1,000-point club, leading the men's basketball team of Jacksonville University (16-13, 8-4 ASUN) to an 81-76 victory over USC Upstate (9-20, 3-9 ASUN). The win put the Dolphins in a tie for first place in the ASUN Conference with North Florida (19-10, 8-4 ASUN) with just two games left in the regular season.

Upstate, trailing 41-34 at the half, started the second period with an 11-7 run, and pulled within three, 48-45, at the first TV timeout. The Spartans briefly took the lead, 50-48, with just under 15 minutes left, but a Marcel White three put the Dolphins back out front 51-50. Upstate would stay within three points for most of the half, and again took the lead, 68-66, with a little over five minutes left.

The Dolphins and Upstate traded the lead a few times in the closing minutes, but JU took the lead for good, 75-74, on a White free throw. The Dolphins sunk six of their final eight free throws in the final two minutes to win by five.

Scouting the Opposition – USC Upstate
