MACON, Ga.
– The ASUN Conference announced on Wednesday afternoon the 2018-19 men's basketball preseason honors and polls, during which, a pair of Dolphins earned recognition on the All-Conference Team.

Jace Hogan and JD Notae are both coming off tremendous 2017-18 campaigns and are set to guide the Dolphins through a challenging non-conference schedule and the deep, talented ASUN slate. Only two individuals were selected unanimously to the All-Conference Team and seven different schools were represented.

"As a team, we are excited about the season opening soon," head coach Tony Jasick said. "The ASUN returns a number of quality players and teams, which should make it one of the more competitive schedules in recent memory."

Hogan led the Dolphins in scoring last season at 17.1 points per game in just 27 games, which was good for fourth overall in the ASUN but ended up getting snubbed from postseason honors. His 194 field goals ended up fifth in the league and his 7.2 field goals per game were tops on the team by a full field goal and a half while shooting 51.6 percent from the floor. His career-high 39 points came on the grandest stage, in the quarterfinals of the ASUN tournament, which helped propel his team into the semifinals.

Notae burst on the scene during the 2017-18 season, and developed into one of the best guards in the ASUN seemingly overnight. The 6-2 guard topped the league's freshman in scoring (15.4 PPG), minutes (31.4 MPG), and steals (49), finishing 11th overall in scoring among ASUN individuals despite missing the final five games of the season. He led the team with 23 games in double-figures, topping the team in scoring 13 times, twice in rebounds, and seven times in assists. His 432 points was the second-highest scoring effort by a freshman in school history. For his efforts Notae won ASUN Newcomer of the Week twice and went on to be named ASUN Freshman of the Year and to the All-Freshman Team.

"We're happy Jace and JD were regognized by the ASUN through the preseason poll," Coach Jasick continued. "This honor reflects the quality seasons they had last year, despite each missing time due to significant injuries."

The ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll and Preseason Media Poll both placed Jacksonville in the fifth spot, behind Lipscomb, FGCU, Liberty and North Florida, respectively. NJIT, Kennesaw State, Stetson and North Alabama occupy spots 6-8. The Dolphins did receive a pair of first place votes in the Media Poll.
