JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The 2019 Jacksonville University men's lacrosse promotional schedule is here! With game day activities and special recognition at all seven of the Dolphins' home games this season, there's something for everyone to enjoy!
The Dolphins open their home slate this Saturday, Feb. 9 against No. 2 Duke at noon. While the team is hungry for its first win over a ranked opponent, the first 100 fans in the gate won't hear their stomachs rumbling as they receive a free slice of pizza to help us celebrate National Pizza Day.
The day continues with the first of two Duval vs. St. John's Youth Days. Kids coming in will have a chance to sign up and represent their county for a chance to win a free youth clinic; sign-ups will be held at both the home opener against Duke and the Dolphins' Feb. 15 game against Marquette. Additional activities include a bounce house, face paintings by the JU cheerleaders before and during the game, youth teams having the opportunity to play on the field during halftime, a station to decorate and create your own sign for the game, and a tour of the brand new Jacksonville Lacrosse Center following the game. Players will also be on hand to give away free tickets for kids in eighth grade or younger to the Moe's Lacrosse Classic against Michigan on Feb. 23.
The following Friday, Feb. 15, Jacksonville takes on Marquette under the lights of D.B. Milne Field at 7 p.m. In the second and final installment of the Duval vs. St. John's Youth Day, kids once again have a chance to sign up under their county, and the winner of the free clinic will be announced following the game. Youth teams will have an opportunity to play on the field during halftime, and everyone is encouraged to wear green for this Green Out game!
The biggest lacrosse game in Florida takes place on Saturday, Feb. 23 as Big Ten foe Michigan comes to town for the 2019 Moe's Lacrosse Classic at 11:30 a.m. The Dolphins' first-ever live nationally televised contest on CBS Sports, the Moe's Lacrosse Classic will feature three high school games – one before and two after – surrounding the JU-Michigan matchup as part of the JU: Lacrosse Capital of the South High School Series.
