Dolphins Narrowly Miss the Mark in Dad Vail Semifinals

PHILADELPHIA – After solid performances in day one of the Dad Vail Regatta, the Jacksonville University men's rowing program continued its adventures on the Schuylkill River with its varsity four and pair racing in their respective semifinals. Hoping to land a spot in the grand final later in the day, both crews fell just shy of the qualifying marks.

The Dolphin's pair of Andrew Bechtold and Travis Pulliam were the first to launch their semi. A time of 7:14.460 put the crew in third place, nearly five seconds behind the Connecticut boat that finished second to move on to the finals.

The top three boats advanced to the varsity four final and Jacksonville placed fourth. The Dolphins posted an event time of 6:41.794 while Brock rowed in at third in 6:36.638.

Jacksonville's next regatta will be the MAAC Championships (Sunday, May 17) at Mercer Lake, N.J.
