Dolphin Crew Handles First Day of Dad Vail

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Continuing its impressive run, the Jacksonville University men's rowing team has advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta, which will be held Saturday in Philadelphia, Pa.

The first day of competition on the Schuylkill River featured over 100 teams, living up to Dad Vail's reputation as one of the largest collegiate races in the nation.

Both Dolphin teams finished in the Top 18 teams, with the Varsity 4 lineup finishing ninth with a raw time of 6:12.405 and the Pair coming in 11th with a raw time of 6:55.589.

Pair: Stroke – Gregory Diggins; Bow – Chris Nichols

The Dolphins kick off Saturday with the Varsity 4 competing in the second heat of the semi-finals at 7:48 a.m. The Pair lineup will compete in the second heat of three in the pair semi-final, which will start at 8:36 a.m. The top two teams in each semi-final heat will advance to the finals.
