WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Jacksonville University's men's rowing program took its varsity eight to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship Sunday where it placed second out of four crews.
Inclement weather forced an early regatta start as the men's eights maneuvered the waters of Mercer Lake at 7:10 a.m. Marist set the standard, posting a time of 6:09.571, and the Dolphins came in at second in 6:15.027.
Fairfield and Iona rounded out the field with times of 6:36.011 and 6:42.440, respectively.
Marist went on the win the MAAC Championship with a meet-high 33 points. Fairfield finished second with 28 points, followed by Jacksonville (15), Iona (13), Canisius (5), and Manhattan (2).
The Dolphins 2016 schedule continues with the IRA National Championship on June 3. The three-day regatta will also be on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J.
