Turnock Earns Second ASUN All-Academic Team Selection

LAKE POINT, Ga. – For the second straight season, Alex Turnock has proven his talents for the Jacksonville University men's cross country team both on the course and in the classroom after being named to the 2018 ASUN Conference All-Academic Team, as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon.

A junior majoring in kinesiology, Turnock achieved a 3.88 cumulative GPA while leading the Dolphins in each of the four races – including the ASUN Championships – this season.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native also raced to a new personal best time in the 8,000-meter distance twice, first at the UF Mountain Dew Classic where he placed 42nd overall, then at the ASUN Championships where he was the first Dolphin to finish and crossed the line 40th in 27:17.4.

Turnock also earned the distinction last season.

The lone Dolphin to represent JU at this weekend's NCAA South Region Championships, Turnock will compete in the men's 10,000-meter race at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla. at 9:30 a.m.
