Turnock Closes Out Season at NCAA South Region Championship

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - As the lone Dolphin to represent the Jacksonville University men's cross country team beyond the league championship meet, junior Alex Turnock closed out the season at the 2018 NCAA South Region Championship Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park.

In each of his three seasons as a Dolphin, Turnock has advanced to the meet to compete in the lengthened 10,000-meter race. Despite a dense fog for arguably the most difficult running conditions all season, the Jacksonville, Fla. native finished in 36:07.9 (137th overall) for his second-quickest time in the meet of his career.

A two-time ASUN All-Academic Team selection, Tunock paced the Dolphins in all four races this season and helped Jacksonville to place ninth overall at the ASUN Championships two weeks ago.
