Director of Rowing Jim Mitchell was recently highlighted in an American Heart Association feature about the adaptive sports rowing and recreation program founded by Jacksonville University and Brooks Rehabilitation.

The feature is showcased on the front page the the American Heart Assiociation's website (www.heart.org) and is part of the organization's Life is Why series.

Mitchell is featured along with Scott Brown, a world champion Paralympic rower and program specialist with Brook Rehabilitation Adaptive Sports Rowing Team. They both have watched people leave their wheelchairs and disabilities behind.

They've seen participants row toward new adventures without limits.

"I go home inspired," said Mitchell. "Building stronger hearts physically and emotionally is Why."
