Box Score Senior Crystal Bell was named A-Sun Player of the Week after helping the JU women’s basketball team to home wins against South Carolina State and Lipscomb.
Bell posted double-digits in points in both contests and recorded 11 steals in leading the Dolphins (3-10, 1-1 A-Sun) to two comeback wins. She is also the first Dolphin to earn the weekly honor since Courtney Jackson in 2008.

Bell scored 13 points against South Carolina State, including the game-winning point on a free throw for the 68-67 victory. She also posted six rebounds, four steals and three blocks to help the cause.
Against Lipscomb, Bell paced the Dolphins with a season-high 19 points and recorded eight rebounds. She had a career-best seven steals which tied Rebecca Montz (2/14/04) and Angela Walker (2/8/01) for the most in a single-game at JU.
Since Nov. 29, Bell has led the Dolphins in scoring in five of the last eight games - hitting double-figures in every contest.
Bell paces the team scoring (12.2), steals (30) and blocks (14), while ranking third in rebounding (6.2)
The Dolphins host Belmont in A-Sun action tomorrow at the Veterans Memorial Arena at 5 p.m.
