TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – In its first road contest of the season, Jacksonville University's women's basketball team met No. 12 Florida State at the Donald L. Tucker Center Thursday where it dropped a 90-47 decision.

For the third consecutive game, Sherranda Reddick paced the Dolphins in scoring with 17 points. Four of her five field goals were captured from beyond the arc.

Brandi Buie added eight points while Jasmyn Brown and Christin Mercer each finished with seven.

"We need to use Florida State, who in my opinion is an Elite Eight/ Final Four team, as an example and learn from them," said Head Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin. "There were valuable lessons learned tonight, and if we can emulate a team like that, we'll be in good shape in March." 

After a sluggish start, the Dolphins used the first media timeout to regroup, pulling within five, 14-9, with four minutes remaining in the quarter. Jasmyn Brown ignited for a steal and score, and Reddick swished a corner three.

Florida State held a double-digit advantage by the end of the frame, and maintained it the rest of the evening.  There was one field goal made in the final five minutes before the half as FSU entered the break up, 46-22.

As a team, the Dolphins shot 29.6 percent from the floor (16-for-54), and 19 of their points were recorded off of FSU turnovers. 

Jacksonville continues its road travels Monday against another in-state competitor, South Florida. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
