Box Score MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Jacksonville University women's basketball faced North Carolina in the Crescom Bank Holiday Invitational Tuesday, and dropped the first-time meeting, 87-57.
At the first media timeout, Jacksonville and the Tar Heels combined for four made field goals and nine turnovers. The four-point game favored UNC, 7-3, and the tournament host came out of the break with its offense running on all cylinders.
Jacksonville cracked double-digits three minutes into second period on a three-pointer by Sherranda Reddick and entered the half trailing, 42-20.
Reddick accounted for more than half of the Dolphins' first-half points (11) while also grabbing a team-high five rebounds.
JU saw its best point tally in the fourth frame, shooting a quarter-high 64.3 percent (9-for-14) and outscoring UNC, 24-23.
Reddick finished the night with 18 points, Kayla Gordon added 12 and Christin Mercer 10.
Jacksonville (9-3) returns to the court Wednesday, Dec. 28, for a 7 p.m. tip at Auburn.
