Sakane Paces the Dolphins Who Rest in Second After 54 Holes at Wolfpack Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Jacksonville University men's golf team will sleep on Saturday night just three shots back of the lead at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate after 54 holes of play. The Dolphins fired a -10, 566 as team on Saturday to settle into a tie for second, three shots behind host N.C. State.

Michael Sakane, playing out the number five spot, fired round of 69 (-3) and 71 (-1) to post a 140, leading all Dolphins and putting him into a tie for seventh overall. Thomas Thurloway (71, 71 – 142), Sam Uhland (73, 69 – 142) and Eduardo Carrete (73, 69 – 142) all went shot for shot to create a tie for 19th overall on the individual leaderboard. Aaeri Krishnan was just four-over for the day out for the fourth spot.

At four-under par Sakane is very much in contention for the individual title with 18 holes to play on Sunday morning. The leader sleeps on a 54-hole score of eight-under par. Tee times for JU get started at 9:30 on Sunday and will conclude at 10:06. The five will be paired with players from N.C. State and Campbell.
