LAST TIME OUT

Jacksonville began the 2017-18 postseason by winning its first ASUN Championship Tournament game 2010, defeating Kennesaw State at home, 87-68. Junior Jace Hogan set the record for made field goals in a conference postseason game and almost broke the scoring mark, dropping 39 points, while going 17-25 from the field. Redshirt-senior Devin Harris nearly managed his second-straight triple-double, compiling 11 points and rebounds apiece and nine assists.

"I'm really proud of our guys' effort. Kennesaw State had been playing really well and I thought we were pretty good defensively tonight. We got enough, but we need everything from everybody, and I thought everyone that played tonight contributed," said Head Coach Tony Jasick.

QUICK HITS

  • JU re-wrote its own conference postseason record book in many areas in Monday night's victory. The Dolphins set program-highs for FG made (33) and FG percentage (56.9) in an ASUN tournament contest, while Hogan demolished the standing points and FG records. Freshman Jalyn Hinton went perfect from the field (7-7) to establish a new JU high for FG percentage in tournament play, while Harris's nine helps did the same in the assists category.
  • Harris etched his name into the Jacksonville history books in Thursday's win, becoming the first Dolphin to record a triple-double in a game since Kip Stone on Jan. 14, 1995. The Tampa, Fla. native went for 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists, with the latter good for a career-high. The assist mark ties for the third-most in a game in program history, and was the most by a Dolphin since 1991.
  • Jacksonville saw three players earn honors on the ASUN Postseason awards list following the conclusion of the regular season. Harris became the second Dolphin ever to win Defensive Player of the year, while JD Notae took home Freshman of the Year for the second time in program history. Harris was also tabbed Second-Team All-Conference, while Notae and Hinton earned spots on the ASUN All-Freshman Team.
  • Following the announcement by ASUN Conference on Saturday, redshirt-senior Cody Helgeland became the second Dolphin ever to be named to the ASUN All-Academic team. The Toccoa, Ga. native holds a 3.70 GPA, and will graduate in May with a degree in Kinesiology.
  • The Dolphins have compiled 17 double-doubles on the year between five different players. This total is the most the team has had since at least the 2000-2001 season, and more than the previous three seasons combined (21). Harris, Hogan, Hinton, Notae, and Damien Sears have each accomplished the feat this season, marking the most players in at least the last 17 seasons to have done so.
  • Through 32 games, there are multiple Dolphins who stand atop or close in several statistical categories in the ASUN. Hogan ranks fifth in the conference in scoring (17.5), and fifth in rebounds per-game (6.7). Hinton leads the ASUN in field goal percentage (65.7), and is second in blocks-per-game (1.1). Harris is second in assists-per-contest (5.5) and fourth in rebounds (7.5).
  • Several JU players have entered the Dolphin record book for single-season performances. Hinton currently holds the second-highest FG percentage in a single season, shooting 65.7 percent from the floor. Harris sits tied for fifth in assists in a single season with 153. Sophomore Tanner Rubio is tied for eighth in three-point FG attempts in a campaign (179), and well as knotted for 10th all-time in career triples made with 120.
