COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Jacksonville University Softball lost a travel-shortened game 4-1 against Utah, and fell 3-2 to Yale Sunday. The Dolphins (14-12) completed the Maryland Invitational with two wins and three losses.

Heather Roberts was 4-for-6, including a 3-for-3 outing against Yale (2-11). Carolyn O'Neal was 2-for-3 against the Bulldogs as well.

In the circle for JU Alyssa Bilodeau surrendered four runs on on seven hits and three walks against Utah (14-7), but delivered six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision effort vs. Yale.

Bilodeau held the Utes to just one hit through the first three innings, but Utah broke though in the fourth. Four straight hits and a sacrifice fly put the Dolphins in a 3-0 hole.

Serena Quinata put Jacksonville on the board with a solo home run in the fifth.

Utah extended their lead to 4-1 in the sixth.

In the top of the seventh, time was called for the Utes' travel accommodations.

Utah's Katie Donovan (9-1) earned the win, striking out five Dolphins in as many innings. Bilodeau (10-3) was charged with the loss.

vs. Yale

JU faced an early 3-0 deficit and responded in the bottom of the second. Jordan Daniels singled to right, Hannah Roberts walked, and Kristen Griffith advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt. Katelin Davis came in to run for Roberts before a bunt-single by O'Neal scored Daniels. A sacrifice fly by Quinata scored Davis to make it a 3-2 game.

But that was all the scoring this game had to offer. Bilodeau took over in the circle for JU after the damage was done in the second inning and held Yale to just two hits for the remainder of the contest. For the Bulldogs, Terra Jerpbak (2-3) earned the win. Jacksonville's Seana Mora was charged with the loss.

JU next plays host to Notre Dame Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Debbie & Fred Pruitt Softball Complex.
