LAKE POINT, Ga. - After running the quickest 5,000-meter time in the ASUN Conference this season, Jacksonville University women's cross country runner Nora McUmber earned ASUN Runner of the Week honors, as annouced by the league Wednesday.
A senior hailing from Chevy Chase, Md., McUmber placed sixth overall at the University of Florida's Mountain Dew Invitational last Saturday with a time of 17:24.7 - less than one second off her personal best and the Dolphins' second quickest time in program history.
It is the second time McUmber has earned the weekly honor and the first time this season.
McUmber and the Dolphins return to the course in two weeks when they head to Tallahassee for the FSU Invitational on Oct. 12.
