DELAND, Fla. – The Dynasty continues! With a dominating 22-3 win at Stetson in its regular season finale, the Jacksonville University women's lacrosse team shut the door on its sixth undefeated ASUN season at 6-0 and earned its seventh ASUN Regular Season title, Sunday afternoon.
 
In just 10 years as a program, the Dolphins have captured eight regular season conference titles (7 in the ASUN, 1 in the National Lacrosse Conference), six conference tournament championships (5 in the ASUN, 1 in the NLC), and five trips to the NCAA Tournament. With their 6-0 league record this season, the Dolphins have also completed their seventh undefeated conference slate (6 in the ASUN, 1 in the NLC) and improved to 44-1 (.978 win percentage) against ASUN Conference opponents.
 
"I'm pleased with our journey so far. … This team completed an amazing regular season. Headed to the postseason, we will work to improve our focus. Today we started without a lot of direction, but pulled it together well after a timeout," commented Associate Head Coach Paul McCord following the win.
 
The Dolphins faced a 2-0 deficit after just 4:34 into the game, and quickly called a timeout to reset. The timeout proved fruitful as Jacksonville did not allow another Hatter goal in the half and ran out on a 13-goal rally. During that run, sophomore Jenny Kinsey notched six of her eight points on the day, including the Dolphins' first (23:18) and last (7:02) goals of the half. Classmate Alyssa Arnold posted in all five of her points on three goals and two assists, while junior Alexis Deaken chipped in three of her four goals during the run as the Dolphins led, 13-2 at the break.
 
Freshman Molly Brock recorded her second of the day just 1:19 into the second half before the Hatters finally mustered an answer to JU's 14-0 run. Brock finished the day with a team-high six draw controls.
 
Despite the hosts' effort, the Dolphins called on their defense to brush off any chance after that, as Jacksonville allowed Stetson just one successful clear on eight attempts in the second half. Off those turnovers, the Dolphins closed out the game with an 8-0 run for the final 22-3 victory.
 
"Jenny Kinsey was unstoppable today; she is playing the best lacrosse in her career over the last seven games. Alexis Deaken continues to shoot the lights out; Maddie Sturgell and Megan Prescott on defense were solid and helped to execute our game plan as both drew charges," added McCord. "We are looking forward to a well-earned beach practice tomorrow and some game film." Prescott finished the day with two points (1g, 1a) and two draw controls.
 
In an impressive effort from the 8-meter line, the Dolphins finished 10-for-10; all three of graduate student Hayley Ciklin's goals came on free-position attempts, while Kinsey also finished 3-for-3.
 
Freshman goalie Dayna Martinetto tallied two saves in 42:29 between the pipes to earn her 14th win of the season. Redshirt-freshman Sharn Muffett collected two ground balls, caused two turnovers, and picked up a save in the final 17:31 in the crease.
 
With the #1 seed in the ASUN Conference Tournament, hosted by Coastal Carolina, the Dolphins face #4 Kennesaw State in the semifinal round, set for Thursday, May 4 at 1 p.m.
