JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University Athletics, in conjunction with BSN/Nike and 1010XL/92.5 FM Jax Sports Radio, announced a partnership Tuesday to broadcast eight football games this fall on the radio station.
1010XL continues to serve as the flagship station of the JU Dolphins, and now thanks to its deal with BSN will feature even more play-by-play content on top of the current agreement, which already airs all men's basketball games, select football games and postseason contests for other JU sports teams.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand local radio coverage of the Jacksonville Dolphins thanks to two great partners, BSN/Nike and 1010XL, coming together," said Athletic Director
Alex Ricker-Gilbert. "1010XL is the leader in sports talk radio in Jacksonville, so the opportunity to expand our reach with them is a win-win."
The games will be presented each week by Nike Team Athletic Distributor BSN, and air on 1010XL/92.5 FM, with a 15-minute pregame show featuring an interview with Head Coach
Ian Shields and a 10-minute postgame wrap-up show. 1010XL's Andrew Gibson is set to provide play-by-play for the six home games at D.B. Milne Field this fall, joined by Donnie Horner III as the game analyst and former Jacksonville student-athlete Reagan Wright on the sidelines. Voice of the Dolphins
Scott Manze will continue to provide coverage on the road.
"We are very proud of our relationship with JU," said 1010XL's General Manager Steve Griffin. "We're excited to expand that to include airing of additional JU football games and programming, and we appreciate the good folks at BSN/Nike for making that happen."
The partnership officially begins with the home opener vs. Dartmouth at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, and will extend to all six homes games, as well as road games at Butler on Oct. 26 and Drake on Nov. 9. The games can be heard locally on 1010AM/92.5 FM and anywhere in the country on the 1010XL smartphone app and online at 1010xl.com.
