DELAND, FL – Jacksonville Women's Rowing is back in Deland on Friday to battle both Stetson and Miami in their third of three races on Lake Beresford this season.

In their last time out on the water against Stetson and Drake the Dolphins put on a solid display of rowing, winning four out of the five races that they competed in.

Their best race of the event came in the W2V4 vs Stetson in which JU finished a whole 50.1 seconds in front of their opponents with an impressive time of 8:15.1. They would also win the 2^nd Varsity 8, Varsity Four, and the W3V8 with times of 7:05.7, 8:06.8, and 7:43.2 respectively.

The last meeting between JU and Miami occurred exactly one year before Friday's race on March 25, 2021, when JU dropped three of the four races that they competed in against the Hurricanes.

Looking forward to Friday, Head Coach Mike Lane is excited for yet another opportunity to battle MAAC opponent Stetson and a familiar in-state rival in Miami.

"I am really excited to get back on the race course this Friday!  Racing every weekend is a great way to measure our improvement as well as adjusting as we continue fine tuning our championship lineups. Racing Stetson 3 weekends in a row is a little much, however the positive we take out of these chances is we can truly test our speed against a very quality MAAC opponent."

"Miami will be a strong program.  They will be a good test of our speed, and we really have nothing to lose when it comes to racing them!  I look forward to watching our athletes get after them on Friday!" said Lane.

Boats launch at approximately 1:45 pm on Friday, with the first race of the day beginning at 2:30. The races will once again take place at the Sandra Stetson Aquatic Center on the shores of Lake Beresford in Deland, FL.
