JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The Jacksonville women's lacrosse team earned its third consecutive win, besting the Manhattan Jaspers 17-3 Tuesday afternoon. The Dolphins set a season high for most goals scored and fewest goals allowed. Three goals is the fewest allowed by a JU team since a 20-3 win over Delaware State on March 18, 2023.
The Dolphins scored up and down the lineup, with 14 separate players finding the back of the net. Among the goal scorers were junior defender
Kylie Redman and junior midfielder
Maddi Santini who scored their first career goals. Junior defender
Maggie Cuddy and sophomore midfielder
Gabby Hendricks both scored their first goal of the season. Sophomore attacker
Maeve Brennan led the way five points (2G, 3A), setting a new career high for single-game points.
31 players saw the field for Jacksonville, a new season high.
"They show up at practice every single day. They're working just as hard as the next kid. To be able to be in a situation where we can give the nod to a couple more people is always what we want to see," Singleton said.
The Dolphins got the scoring started fast, with Brennan burying her first less than a minute into the game. Freshman attacker
Shae Hagans added to her team-leading goal tally, scoring her first of two goals soon after. The freshman finished with two goals and an assist, giving her a team-high 19 points this season. Junior attacker
Olivia Johnson scored her second of the season to give JU a 4-1 lead at the end of the first, and it was all Dolphins in the second.Â
Hagans cashed in an extra-woman opportunity to open the period, and the floodgates were open. Jacksonville outscored Manhattan 9-0 in the second quarter. The offense was humming, as six of those nine goals came off of an assist, with the other three coming on free-position shots.Â

The pace slowed down in the second half, but the Dolphins added a few more to their total. JU outscored the Jaspers 3-1 in the third quarter, with junior attacker
Ainsley Scruggs scoring the third goal to give the Dolphins a 16-2 lead heading to the final quarter. Manhattan scored the first goal of the final period, but Santini buried her first-career goal as the clock expired to close out the 17-3 win.Â

Head Coach Tara Singleton
"We're happy to see it build and to start stacking wins together, I think that's a huge bit of growth for us. I love that we had so many different goal scorers. We were able to rotate a lot of bodies and come up with the W, so it's a happy day."
