"I'm so proud of these kids for the hard work they have put into both the classroom and the water," Jacksonville head coach
Mike Lane said. "They are the definition of a student-athlete."
To be named a CRCA Scholar Athlete, an athlete needs to meet select academic and athletic criteria. In the water, a rower must either row in 75% of spring races or race in an NCAA boat at the conference championships.
In the classroom, athletes needed to earn at least a 3.5 GPA through the fall semester of the academic year while meeting all league and university eligibility requirements.Â
The CRCA honored 990 athletes across the country, with the class as a whole averaging an impressive 3.75 GPA.
"What our women do every day is really impressive and to be able to recognize such a large group for their accomplishments in the classroom is awesome," Lane said.Â
