TOWSON, Md. --- The Jacksonville Dolphins hit the road for the first time this season, falling to the Towson Tigers 14-13 Saturday afternoon. Jacksonville outscored Towson 4-0 in the fourth quarter, but the Dolphins couldn't fully close the gap late in the game.
JU was led by junior
Jessica Giller's six points (4G, 2A), while sophomore attacker
Shae Hagans scored a hat-trick with four total points.
Hagans put the Dolphins on the board first, burying a chance from senior
Olivia Johnson. The Tigers fought back with two goals, then junior
Allyx Berry converted a free-position to tie the game at two.
Towson got the final two goals of the first quarter to take a 4-2 lead into the first break. Hagans got her second to end the run, finishing off an
Allyx Berry feed. The Tigers ripped three-straight goals, then senior
Ainsley Scruggs answered with a goal.Â
The teams traded goals, with Towson scoring then Giller got her first of the day to answer. The Tigers got another, taking a 9-5 lead into halftime.
Scruggs ripped a free-position shot to get one back for JU after the half. Towson answered, then Giller got her second to keep the deficit at three. Two more Tiger goals put Jacksonville five back, then Hagans completed her hat-trick to stop the Towson run.

Maeve Brennan scored to get one back. Towson ended the quarter with another goal, taking a 14-9 lead into the final quarter.
The Dolphins would rally in the fourth to give themselves a chance to win the game late. Junior
Maddie Herman got the train rolling with a goal 46 seconds into the fourth quarter. Giller got a goal, finishing off a feed from junior
Ruby Lynch.
Despite playing short-handed, Brennan got a goal to pull the Dolphins within two goals. Jacksonville couldn't close the final gap, though Giller got her fourth of the day in the final seconds of the quarter.Â
