Lofi Tamasese

Former NCAA Division I football player Lofi Tamasese begins his first year as a student assistant for the Jacksonville University football team in 2018.

A native of Daly City, Calif. Tamasese attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was a member of the football team from 2013-16 as an offensive lineman. He lettered all three seasons, and could not compete his final season due to injuries.

Tamasese is no stranger to the JU coaching staff, having played under Coach Shields at Army and for Coach Simi at the United States Military Academy Prep School.

He earned three letters in football white at Jefferson High School in Daly City, and served as a team captain in all three seasons he was on the team. An All-Central Coast Selection in 2010 & 2011, he helped the squad to PAL Division Championships in both seasons. 

His full name is Lealofi Tamasese. His parents are Moe and Lauina Tamasese, and he is the oldest of four.
