Scott Manze was elevated to Assistant AD / Athletic Communications in June of 2021. In addition to serving as the "Voice of the Dolphins" for a ninth straight year, he heads up the Athletic Communications department.

"Over the last decade, Scott Manze is the person most synonymous with Jacksonville University Athletic Communications," said Senior Vice President / Athletic Director Alex Ricker-Gilbert. "Scott has served us in a number of capacities over the years, most notably as Voice of the Dolphins, and no one is readier for this role.

"Scott is loyal, passionate and cares about all the right things. Most importantly, he cares about telling the student-athlete story. He has embodied our core values since stepping foot on campus and we are fortunate to have him leading our communications team long into the future."

Manze started in the fall of 2012 as an intern with the JU Athletic Department, working with the Jacksonville Dolphins Sports Network for radio broadcasts as a sideline reporter for football games and halftime host for men's basketball, while entering into the world of play-by-play for ASun.tv streaming broadcasts of women's basketball and other sports on-campus.

He assumed primary play-by-play duties in November of 2013, and joined the department full-time in the fall of 2014, serving as the Broadcast and Digital Media Specialist, working to enhance the department's digital media presence.

Starting in the fall of 2017, Manze started working in sports information, and has served as the primary contact for men's basketball, baseball, women's golf, men's and women's rowing and football over the years. He was most recently promoted to the Director of Athletic Communications and Multimedia Production in December 2020, where he served as the number two in the department and oversaw the Multimedia team's efforts.

Since he joined the department, he has played a hand in the implementation of the ESPN Digital Streaming initiative, growth in social media presence, the migration to two new athletics website platforms, a continued relationship with local media, including 1010XL/92.5 FM Jax Sports Radio, the flagship station of the Dolphins for over a decade, and much more.

"I am humbled and honored to lead the Athletic Communications department and help continue to share the outstanding stories of our sports programs and student-athletes," said Manze. "I am appreciative of everyone I have worked with and for over the years on this journey, for helping to shape the way I lead and prepare my vision for this opportunity.

"While I may not have attended JU, I truly feel like member of the Dolphin family, and as a Jacksonville-native, I love the chance to help promote the university that bears my hometown's name."

A Jacksonville, Fla. native, Manze graduated from Bishop Kenny High School before attending Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating in 2012 with a B.A. in Electronic Media and a minor in Media Studies.
