Jamey Salmon

Jamey Salmon has served as Head Coach for the men’s golf program for four years, after a standout career as a player for JU and two separate stints as an assistant coach, as well as a professional career.

2022-23

•    Coached the team to its first team tournament title since 2019, capturing The Southern Invitational on April 4. It was the 24th team title in the history of the program
•    The team finished third at the season-opening AllState Streamsong Invitational, shooting a season-best 11-under 823
•    Earned a third-place finish at the ASUN Championship, shooting its lowest team score ever at the event
•    Junior Joseph Sullivan made the ASUN All-Tournament Team with a T2 finish at the ASUN Championship, the best individual finish for a JU golfer in seven years at the event
•    Redshirt-junior Alexandre Vandermoten was named Third Team All-ASUN, the third postseason award for the Baillargues, France native
•    Sullivan was ASUN Golfer of the Week on April 6 after his second-place finish helped the team to the championship at The Southern Invitational

2021-22

•    Season-best finish was T4 at the Carolina Collegiate Invite on October 12
•    Best team score was 853 at the Irish Creek Collegiate April 2-3
•    The team placed fifth at the ASUN Championship, led by Alexandre Vandermoten’s T7 finish
•    Redshirt-sophomore Vandermoten received his second career postseason award, named Second Team All-ASUN, while freshman Filip Raza made the All-Freshman Team
•    Vandermoten’s T4 at the Sea Best Invitational was the best individual finish of the year
•    He was named ASUN Golfer of the Week on November 4 after two sub-par rounds to finish 3-under at T11, tops out of all 17 ASUN competitors, at the White Sands Invitational

2020-21

•    Best team finish was second at the Old Corkscrew Intercollegiate April 12-13
•    Best team score was 838 at the Florida Gators Invitational, tied for the fifth-lowest in program history
•    Team finished third at the ASUN Championship
•    Redshirt junior Michael Sakane posted four top-10 finishes in the regular season and placed third at the ASUN Championship
•    He advanced to the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, where he finished second (-13), advancing to the NCAA Championship
•    The Setegaya, Japan native made First Team All-ASUN and the ASUN All-Academic Team, and concluded the season as a member of the PING All-Region Team
•    Redshirt-freshman Alexandre Vandermoten made the ASUN All-Freshman team
•    Senior Eduardo Carrete was named ASUN Golfer of the Week on April 8 after finishing third at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate

Salmon's name can be found all over the record book from his time on the roster from 2009-13. In 2012-13 he matched the program record for rounds played in a single season (34) and played 32 rounds in back-to-back seasons prior to that. His 116 total rounds played are second most in program history. His four Eagles in 2012-13 remained tied for third in program history and his career stroke average of 75.16 ranks ninth all-time. His 291 birdies are third all-time.
