2022 (Freshman): Rowed as a member of the Third Varsity Eight in the three-seat at the Stetson Invitational, Occoquan River Invitational, SIRA Regatta, and the Dad-Vail Regatta... Also rowed alongside Jack McCarthy in the 2V- against Florida Tech on 3/26/22.

Before Jacksonville: Served as team captain at the Minnesota Boat Club ... Placed first in the Iowa Indoor Regatta in the Men's Lightweight ... Placed second at the NWIRA Regatta in the Junior Men's Single.

Personal: Son of Robert and Jodie Mattern ... Has a brother, Taylor.
