Biography

2022 (Redshirt Junior):
  • Saw action in three matches during the season
  • Earned the victory on Mar. 9 against St. John's River
  • Helped the Dolphins to the most single-season wins in program history
2021 (Redshirt Sophomore):
  • Split between the 4s and 5s pairs for JU in 2021
  • Earned two wins on opening day against Erskine on Feb. 25
2020 (Freshman):
  • Played one match as the No. 3 pair and two matches as the extra pair 
2019 Indoor (Freshman): 
  • Played 10 sets in seven matches including a pair of starts
  • Registered six kills, 10 blocks and two digs during the season
Before Jacksonville:
  • Four-year starter for Hanover Central HS
  • Named 2018 Academic All-State Honorable Mention and Academic All-Conference as a senior
  • Finished her senior season with 539 kills, 148 blocks, and a .227 hitting percentage
  • Helped Hanover to a pair of conference championships in 2016 and 2017, along with a sectional championship in 2017
  • Earned All-Conference Second Team honors as a junior in 2017
  • Earned team awards for most improved (2016), best attitude (2017), and sportsmanship (2018)
  • Also ran track for one year
  • Off the court, served as a member of National Honor Society and was class vice president for three years
  •  Achieved High Honor accolades as a freshman and sophomore and Superior Honor Roll as a junior and senior
  • Graduated with Academic Honors with a 3.9 GPA
Personal:
  • Daughter of Anne and Barry DeYoung
  • Has four older siblings: Dan, Andrew, Lindsay, and Emma
  • Brother, Dan ran track and cross country at Anderson University (2004-07)
  • Brother, Andrew played baseball at Ball State (2009) and Emory (2010-11)
  • Plans to major in Marketing, minor in Graphic Design, and pursue her MBA through the JU 4+1 program with hopes of working in advertising
