A star standout of the Northeast Florida golf scene, Kathryn Cusick Dougan enters her fourth year as head coach of Jacksonville University women's golf in 2022-23.

2021-22
  • Coached team to multiple record-breaking performances
  • Shot the 54-hole team record of 871 at the Edisto Island Classic Oct. 11-12
  • This number bested the previous program record of 874, set the month prior at the Sea Best Jacksonville Classic on Sept. 27-28, where the team came home second in the field
  • Freshman Casey Powell captured the individual medal at the Sea Best Jacksonville Classic
  • Powell was voted to the ASUN All-Freshman Team and won the New Fin Award for best female first year athlete at JU
  • Grad Macarena Aguilera tied for the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history with a 210 at the Edisto Island Classic
  • Four team members were named WGCA All-American Scholars
  • Team combined to post 26 rounds of par-or-better on the season
2020-21
  • Competed in a match play event to start the season in January 2021, with the team advancing to the third-place match on the final day
  • Hosted the Amelia Island Collegiate in February, with Paula Trejo Lerdo posting a career-best finish and Mawgan Vater coming home top-10
  • Two team members were named WGCA All-American scholars
  • Jenna Fonda won Junior Medalist honors at the Women's Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship
2019-20
  • Built a steady progression throughout her first season as head coach before the year was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Best finish of the season came in the Pirate Collegiate Classic, Sept. 23-24, where the Dolphins placed fourth
  • JU turned in its strongest performance of the season at the Kiawah Island Classic, finishing T16 in the largest field in women's college golf
  • Freshman Maia Samuelsson took home medalist honors at Kiawah Island and was also named ASUN Golfer of the Week for her efforts in that event
CAREER ACCOLADES
  • Two-time NCAA All-American
  • Two-time All-SEC choice at the University of Alabama
  • Competed on the LPGA Futures Golf tour, the official development tour of the LPGA,
  • Won the 2001 Lincoln Futures Golf Classic 
  • Competed in the 2003 U.S. Women’s Open
  • Led the Crimson Tide to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA East Regional
  • Was the fifth women’s golfer to participate in the NCAA Championships as an individual 
  • Left her mark throughout the Crimson Tide record books, once holding several Alabama bests including:
    • the program’s low round (67)
    • lowest stroke average (74.88)
    • most subpar rounds (9) 
    • most individual tournament titles (3)
  • Represented the United States twice in matches vs. Japan at the Fuji-Xerox Collegiate Golf Championships
  • MVP of the Bishop Kenny High School golf team from 1990 to 1994, taking the Crusaders to undefeated seasons for two years, earning district championship honors in 1993 and 1994, and finishing third in the state in 1994.
  • Four-time The Florida Times-Union top player of the year and in 1994, the Jacksonville Sports Hall of Fame honored her as its overall outstanding female athlete.
She and her husband, Phillip, live with their son, Brady, in Julington Creek.
