The Jacksonville women's rowing program officially announced the hiring of Chloe O'Brien as a graduate assistant in the spring of 2023.
 
O'Brien brings a plethora of experience as a Division I rower at Clemson University, as well as a wealth of leadership involvement throughout her career.
 
"I am so excited to be a GA at Jacksonville!" said O'Brien on joining the JU rowing staff. "I am very passionate about helping athletes achieve the best athletic and personal versions of themselves. The supporting team culture at JU is exactly the type of environment I want to be a part of and continue to cultivate. I can't wait to get started!"
 
As a rower, Chloe played a key part in claiming Clemson's first ever medal in the 2nd Varsity 8 at the ACCs in 2019. Clemson that season placed fourth overall in the ACC that season. O'Brien spent all four seasons rowing at Clemson and persevered through bilateral hip surgeries to compete again her senior season in the 2nd Varsity 8.
 
During her time as a student, Chloe was also selected to take part in the inaugural Women's Leadership Academy as a Gender Equity Captain. There, she organized the "Own Your Own Power Summit" for student-athletes and staff. She had the opportunity to meet and learn from top woman executives in businesses from Gatorade and Astellas.
 
Chloe graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Spanish and International Health. She also got a minor in Psychology and was a member of the President's List in six semesters.
