Katelyn Fischer brings a unique blend of athletic leadership and financial expertise to her role as Senior Associate Athletics Director – Administration and Chief of Staff at Jacksonville University. Since joining the department in May 2023 as Associate AD, Fischer was promoted within her first year, recognizing her immediate impact on the department's operations and strategic direction.
In her current role, Fischer spearheads all business and HR functions while serving as a key executive team member driving strategic departmental initiatives. She also oversees athletic programs as sport administrator for Men's and Women's Cross Country, Women's Track, and Beach Volleyball.
Fischer's career trajectory showcases progressive leadership in collegiate athletics administration. As Director of Business Services at the University of Pittsburgh, she managed comprehensive day-to-day operations including financial reporting, accounts payable, and policy oversight. Her earlier experience at the University of Maryland encompassed purchasing, travel reimbursement, and budget reconciliation, where she also pioneered virtual financial literacy workshops for student-athletes and young professionals.
Her foundation in athletics administration was built through the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Internship Program in Finance and Accounting, where she contributed to budget and expense operations across internal departments and 90 championships. Prior to joining the NCAA, she served as a women's basketball graduate assistant coach at Stevenson University while completing her master's in communication studies.
Fischer's professional journey began in corporate finance as an assurance associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in asset management and financial services—experience that now informs her strategic approach to athletics administration.
A recognized leader in her field, Fischer actively contributes to CABMA and Women Leaders in Sports. She serves as Program Chair for CABMA's Mentor Me program and earned recognition as the 2022 CABMA Emerging Leader. Her commitment to developing future leaders extends to her roles on the Development Committee and as an active mentor with Women Leaders in Sports.
A four-year player and two-year captain of Marymount University's women's basketball team, Fischer helped lead the team to a Division III CAC Championship and NCAA tournament appearance. Her balance of athletic and academic excellence culminated in winning the prestigious 2014 Jostens Trophy, awarded to one male and one female student-athlete in NCAA Division III basketball for outstanding achievement in academics, athletics, and community service.
She holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration with an accounting focus from Marymount University.
