SPARKS, Md. – Jacksonville University men's lacrosse head coach
John Galloway and sophomore midfielder
Zack Deaken will represent their respective home countries this weekend at the annual Team USA Fall Classic, held at the US Lacrosse Headquarters.
From USLacrosse.com, "The U.S. men's and women's national teams welcome the Canadian men's and women's senior teams and the reigning NCAA champions — Maryland (women) and Virginia (men). In addition, the USA Select U15 and U17 boys' and girls' teams named as part of the National Team Development Program (NTDP) will be playing teams from Ontario during the weekend."
Throughout the weekend, Galloway will lead the USA Select U17 boys team while Deaken will suit up in the red and white for the
Canadian Men's National Team.
One of the top short-stick defensive midfielders in the collegiate game, Deaken finished the 2019 season second on the team with 42 ground balls and third with 20 caused turnovers. Deaken and Team Canada will face off with the US Men's National Team Friday evening at 8 p.m., before taking on NCAA National Champions Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, the teams will introduce the World Lacrosse trial rules, with Deaken and Team Canada taking on the Americans Sunday, Oct. 20 at 3:15 p.m.
Galloway and the USA Select U17 boys team will take on Ontario on Saturday at St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, Md. at 3:30 p.m. before closing out the weekend with a rematch at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Sunday at 12:15 p.m.
