Turner Jr. was a unanimous selection as an All-Purpose Back in the first year of the position's existence as a league honor. The Savannah, Ga. native lead the team in rushing for the second straight season, racking up 1,355 yards and 15 touchdowns as the catalyst of the offense. The junior was an Honorable Mention All-PFL performer last season and as a freshman as a defensive back.
Nicolas, a two-time First Team All-PFL selection, had over 700 yards rushing for the second straight year. He compiled 760 yards on the ground with two touchdowns, rushing for over 100 yards three times. The sophomore's longest run of the year was a 75-yard rumble on the first offensive play from scrimmage at Marist en route to helping the Dolphins capture a double overtime thriller.
Wakeley led the team in tackles with 91, the fifth-most in a single season in program history. The Alachua, Fla. product had 7.5 tackles for a loss, while forcing two fumbles and recovering one. He blocked a field goal at Marist, which was returned for a touchdown for the first time in program history. He also snagged an interception that he returned for a touchdown at home vs. Ave Maria.
Johnson, who moved from cornerback to rover for his senior season, exploded for his best year as a Dolphin. His 75 tackles were third-most on the team. The local Jacksonville native also broke up a career-best five passes while also recording his first career interception vs. Morehead State.
Byrd was a dual-honorable mention choice, recognized as both a wide receiver and a kick returner. In his first year with the program, the junior transfer from Lainey College led the team in receptions and yards, with 27 for 445, many of them game-breaking. As a returner, he also made a big impact, averaging over 10 yards per punt return with a long of 24, and registering 771 total kick return yards, with a long of 43 and an average of 22.6 per return.
Lewis, a two-time All-PFL Honorable Mention selection, logged 60 tackles to finish fifth on the team. He also broke up four passes and recorded an interception, the eighth of his career, good for a tie for third-most all-time in JU football history.
Hull, a redshirt-freshman from Crestwood, Ky., was named PFL Freshman Defensive Player of the Year on Monday. He finished second on the team in tackles in his first year as a starter at middle linebacker, and had two forced fumbles, including a huge one at the goal line in the second overtime to preserve the win at Marist.
Cordell was named an All-PFL Honorable Mention selection for the second straight year. The redshirt-junior anchored the center of an offensive line that helped pave the way for a second-straight 3,000-plus yard rushing attack.
Folsom, a redshirt-freshman from Ocala, Fla. and Flanagan, a redshirt-freshman from Kennedale, Texas, contributed to the second-ranked rushing attack in the Pioneer Football League as the two starting guards. It was just the second-time in school history that the Dolphins racked up over 3,000 yards on the ground, trailing only last year's production.
