ST. LOUIS – Five Jacksonville University football players earned Academic All-PFL recognition, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Dane Cordell,
Andrew Flanagan and
Ethan Hull all made the First Team, while
Hunter Folsom and
Logan Langemeier both made the Second Team.
Cordell, a redshirt-junior from Plano, Texas, is a two-time First Team Academic All-PFL selection. The two-year starter at center has a 3.88 GPA in Accounting, and served as a team captain while anchoring an offensive line that paved the way for a rushing attack that amassed over 3,000 yards on the ground this season.
Flanagan, a redshirt-freshman from Kennedale, Texas, was also a critical component to that running game that rushing attack that was second best in the PFL. He also excelled in the classroom, posting a 3.97 GPA in Biology.
Hull, who was also the PFL Freshman Defensive Player of the Year and a PFL Honorable Mention Selection this week, earned First Team Academic after earning a 4.0 GPA in Finance. He finished second on the team in tackles, and forced two fumbles, including a game-winning one at Marist.
Folsom and Langemeier both made the Second Team, and were both starters for all 12 games on the offensive line. Folsom has a 3.95 GPA in Mechanical Engineering, while Langemeier has a 3.94 in Finance. Langemeier was a PFL Honor Roll selection last year.
