KENNESAW, Ga. – Jacksonville University baseball dropped game two of the three game series at Kennesaw State 10-0 on Friday afternoon at Stillwell Stadium.
The Dolphins (30-24, 13-10) had its five-game win streak snapped.
Kennesaw State struck first, with two runs in the first on a two-run home run to right field. The Owls extended the lead to 3-0 in the second, when a two-out single with two men on scored another.
AJ Jones (7-4) settled in after that, sitting down the Owls in order in the third, striking out a man to leave the bases loaded in the fourth and getting a 6-4-3 double play to end the fifth.
It was still 3-0 in the seventh, when a leadoff single was followed by another two-run home run. KSU added five insurance runs in the eighth.
Jacksonville managed only three hits in the game, and could not get one with a runner in scoring position all afternoon.
Jacksonville gets another chance to capture the series tomorrow at 1 p.m.
