Dolphins Make it Five-Straight as Hayes Grabs 17 Rebounds

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Dolphins (7-2) brought a four-game win streak to Swisher for a Friday night matchup against Webber International (6-3). This one was another comfortable win for JU to make it five straight, 78-42.

The Dolphins have not won five games in a row since the 2017-18 season, a year they placed second in the ASUN tournament. JU women's basketball has been brought back to that forefront after collecting seven wins early on. Early in this game, JU came out strong, starting the game on a 14-0 run and finishing the first half up 44-19. This story would be maintained throughout the game.

Although an all-around team effort with five players scoring double-digits, one player stood out strong amongst the pod. Reaching a double-double before the first half expired, KayKay Hayes performed at the prominent level she has shown all season thus far. This one was for the record books, however, as she grabbed 17 rebounds and placed herself in a tie for fourth all-time in JU history for a single game.

Coach Darnell Haney reminded JU staff that this is her standard. "Everything we ask of her; she goes and does it. She has a chance to leave her legacy here. She is relentless in every sense of the word."

JU will look to bring this relentless momentum on the road for two matchups this upcoming week. After winning every game of their recent home stretch, Coach Haney has a lot to look for and analyze. "We got a lot of good contributions tonight. We have a chance to look at a lot of different players to go into this next stretch." Their next game is against USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C. on December 13th at 6PM.
