The first goal of the came moments later, as a miscommunication by Jacksonville deep in their own end resulted in an own goal and gave the Owls a lead they would hold until the end of the game.
Reggie Nicolas had a shot to even things in the 58th minute but was unable to beat the keeper as the score remained 1-0. FAU scored twice more in an eight-minute span from the 63rd minute to the 71st minute to make it 3-0. A fourth Owls goal came on a penalty kick in the 84th minute to make it 4-0.
