Late FGCU Charge Forces Women's Soccer to Settle for 4-0 Defeat

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University women's soccer team (0-6-1, 0-1-1 ASUN) battled perennial ASUN powerhouse FGCU (3-1-2, 1-1 ASUN) to a scoreless tie at the break but ran out of gas in the second half, settling for a 4-0 loss.

Jacksonville's Courtney Green made nine saves against the FGCU, doing everything she could to keep the Eagles at bay. The Dolphin defense kept this one scoreless for the first 73 minutes of this one but managed just five shots on the offensive end while FGCU peppered 23, 13 on net.

The first FGCU goal came in the 74th minute and last in the 89th, spoiling a tremendous effort for the Jacksonville side. Next up for Jacksonville will be a trip to DeLand, Fla. for a rematch with Stetson following a 2-2, double overtime tie at Southern Oak Stadium on Feb. 28. It'll be the first of four games to close the regular season for JU.
