JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Inside Lacrosse released its 2021 Women's Division I All-American Teams Friday and Jacksonville University's senior
Sarah Elms was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the publication. Earlier in the week, Elms was named an Honorable Mention All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine and a Second Team All-South Region selection by the IWCLA.
Elms was JU's leading scorer this season and ranked in the top 15 nationally in scoring, amassing 60 goals in 14 games and scoring at least twice in each contest and recording three or more goals on 12 occasions. She also logged 12 assists during the season and went 17-29 on free-position attempts this season while collecting 25 ground balls and causing 14 turnovers.
The Severna Park, Maryland native scored at least five goals in seven the Dolphins' last nine games of the year, with six-goal performances in three-straight games against Mercer, Stetson and Liberty to guide JU to their seventh ASUN regular season title and seventh ASUN Tournament title. She scored a season-high seven goals in last Friday's NCAA First Round matchup against Vanderbilt in the Gainesville Regional, as Jacksonville won 20-12 over the Commordores to collect the program's second-ever NCAA Tournament win and first in the opening round of competition.
