Dolphins Downed by Hatters Thursday Night

DELAND, Fla. – The Dolphins (14-10) traveled just over ninety miles to take on the Stetson Hatters (16-10) in an ASUN divisional matchup. With playoff seeding on the line, JU would drop this one, 55-65.

The Hatters would come into this contest on a seven-game winning streak, their last loss coming against FGCU on Jan. 19th. They just took down the first-place Eagles five days prior to tonight's game, swinging into tonight with momentum on their side.

The Dolphins began the game out in front, shooting 50% from the field in the first quarter. They'd come out of the first with a four-point lead, however it would not last long come quarter two. Those next ten minutes would be the deciding factor in the game as Stetson would outscore JU 9-23, shooting 71% from the field.

Much of the same occurred throughout the second half as well. The Hatters play-making ability and their ability to finish at the rim would prove to be the key to their success tonight, scoring double-digits in each quarter and pushing their win-streak to eight.

This was game two of three this week for JU, as they beat Kennesaw in Georgia this past Monday. They take on the Owls again on Saturday, February 19th at 1PM in Swisher Gymnasium. JU will be celebrating Senior Day and look to take a second victory from KSU in the same week.
