JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Dolphins (0-8) began day one of the Osprey/Dolphin Invite after a postponement due to rain a day prior. Hosting Michigan State (5-2) and Mercer (2-8) on Saturday night, they would drop both contests in five innings each.
After the originally scheduled matchups for Friday night were canceled and/or postponed, the Dolphins found themselves with back-to-back games on a clear Saturday night. Earlier in the week, JU would fall to UF on back-to-back nights, and that story would continue into this weekend.
Their brightest moments of the day came in the bottom of the third against Michigan State, scoring two runs off a two-run double by Victoria Rodebaugh as well as a solo homerun from Allison Bratek against Mercer in the fourth. No other runs were scored tonight from the Dolphins.
Final scores were 2-10 MSU, and 1-12, Mercer.
JU comes back for another matchup against Mercer tomorrow, February 20th, at 12:30PM.
