Dolphins Fall to UNA Lions in Alabama

FLORENCE, Ala. – The Dolphins (12-7) traveled to North Alabama to take on the Lions (8-12) in their seventh matchup all-time. In a game that got away quick, JU would drop the contest, 84-68.

JU would once again come out with a slow start as UNA jumped out to an early 4-18 lead. While the Dolphins would climb back and pull within seven after the first quarter, it was the second quarter that got out of hand for the Dolphins.

There was seemingly no stop to UNA's offense. JU held their last six opponents to 53 points or less, yet in this one, they gave up 48 at half. Three pointers fell at a rapid pace, specifically for North Alabama's Julia Strachan, as she drained seven of ten threes to score an impressive 21 points at halftime.

JU could not find an answer to UNA's high-powered offense in the second half as well, Strachan continued to hit threes as she finished with 35 points and a UNA record of eleven threes. The game was unlike the rest thus far, coming from a tight Dolphins defense that has performed incredibly well this season. However, with eight more games to go, JU remains in a good position in the ASUN conference.

The Dolphins head back on the road to take on Jacksonville State (15-5) on Saturday, February 5th at 2:45PM.
