Dolphins Drop River City Rumble

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Dolphins (11-20, 5-6) fell to North Florida (31-11, 11-4) in both games of their doubleheader, giving UNF the series win heading into Sunday's final matchup.

Game one began a close one, with JU trailing just 3-1 after five innings. The sixth inning opened the game for the Ospreys as they scored six of their eleven runs due in part to poor defensive play on the Dolphins' end. Though JU would score two in the bottom half, they would drop the contest 11-3 in the full seven innings.

The second game had a similar outcome, in a shorter time. Victoria Rodebaugh hit a solo home run to left field in the first inning to give the Dolphins a 1-0 lead after one, however, they would be held scoreless until the fifth. In the meantime, the Ospreys would score runs in the second, third, and fifth innings to give them their eleven runs. With the mercy rule in effect, the Dolphins would fall to UNF 11-2 in five innings.

JU and UNF play their third and final game tomorrow, April 10th at 1PM.
